Settlement of commercial disputes
As part of the practice of commercial dispute resolution, the Bureau’s lawyers handle cases in state courts throughout Russia. A decent grip of the civil process and the analytical way of presenting information to the court are among our pros.
The amount claimed in cases involving the Bureau’s lawyers totalled more than RUB 4 billion.
Cases won by the Bureau:
- The case of debt recovery from both the developer and the general contractor in favour of the contractor, won in the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation. This case is cited in the Judicial Review of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation (vol. 3, 2018) as an example of original and proper dispute resolution. In December 2018, this case ranked first in the Lawyer of the Season rating of the Delovoy Peterburg newspaper in the Arbitration category, courtesy of St. Petersburg’s expert community. In February 2019, it was recognized as the best case of 2018 in the Lawyer of the Year rating of the Delovoy Peterburg newspaper.
- The case of returning the Class A cold-storage warehouse of over 8,000 sq. m, once sold by the CEO, back to IS-LAND LLC, their owner. Spring 2014 witnessed the case placing third at the Lawyer of the season nomination, according to the Delovoy Peterburg newspaper.
- The case of challenging the corporate Articles of Association as far as they concerned the need to obtain the consent of 50 % of company members to selling any ownership interest. The Arbitration Court of the Nizhny Novgorod Region satisfied the claim. It helped to completely break the existing deadlock and empowered the client to dispose of his share without obtaining the consent of the majority of other company members.
